Choirs
MUSIC -- MUSIC -- MUSIC  --  MUSIC

Did you ever wonder what our regular church service would be like if we didn’t have a fantastic choir to lead us in worshipping our Lord?
I believe that it would not be very up-lifting spiritually.
We are in need for more members of St. Mark’s to help us out.  In prior summers, we had twice as many people leading our summer worship.  Don’t get me wrong, our dedicated choir members have been doing a great job this year again  – even though the average number in the choir on a summer Sunday morning was only 8!
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a choir member?  What kind of commitment is       required you ask?  Just ask any present choir member and you will find they really enjoy themselves serving God by providing music and leadership for our worship services.  Not only do you get the best seat in God’s house, you get to wear one of our neat choir gowns, you get an excellent seat to see baptisms of our newest members and you are always first to take communion.
You already come to church to worship, so the only other commitment is an hour rehearsal on a Thursday evening.  The Adult Choirs practice together from 7 pm to 8 pm.  The choirs are open to all ages from 9th grade up to the age of 100+.
I, along with the current choir members, welcome each and every one of you to join us in praising God with singing.  Please won’t you consider being a choir member?  We also have fellowship and fun along with the serious responsibility of providing musical enrichment to our worship services.
PLEASE!  We need your help now!

Acolytes
Acolyte Coordinators:  An adult is needed to coordinate the duties of our acolytes at the 11 am service. This involves scheduling acolytes, calling the youth prior to Sunday morning worship to remind them of their service and oversee them before worship begins. Please call the church office if you can help with this essential duty. Also needed someone to schedule WORSHIP ASSISTANTS: assisting ministers, lectors, communion assistants. Call the church office if you could help with this also.
Lectors and Assisting Ministers
Confirmed members of our church are urged to serve as lectors and assisting ministers at the worship services. This important duty  involves reading the scripture lessons, assisting at the altar and with the distribution of Holy Communion, etc. If you are interested, please sign the sheet provided in the narthex. A one hour training session will be provided to help you learn the responsibilities involved in this essential worship duty.
LYTE
The senior Youth Group (7th thru 12th grades) is known as L.Y.T.E. - Leading Youth Toward Eternity. We have chosen John 12:46 as our scripture verse. We meet every Sunday from 6:30-8pm in the LYTEhouse (the church basement). LYTE is based on the idea that we are so lucky to be children of God. We explore and embrace our spirituality in prayer, bible study and deed. There is usually always something to snack on (get to the Popcorn before Greg Ondo does !!!).We welcome, as our Lord and Savior did, and encourage you to bring friends.

Keep lines of communication open!
